'Nolanverse' Batgirl Concept Design by cpuhuman 'Nolanverse' Batgirl Concept Design by cpuhuman
With Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy officially over, I'd say the door has opened for fans to make an 'expanded universe' of sorts. I thought up this character design for a Batgirl that would hopefully fit in Nolan's universe of this version of the Dark Knight.

The suit is a 'militarized' version of Batgirl's costume that looks flexible and functional, similar to Batman's suit in the movies. I took out some elements that it used to have that would make the design stealthier (e.g. no bright yellow gloves/boots, purple cape like in the comics).

Just as how John Blake seems to be a subtle amalgam of all the Robins' (Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake) traits/backgrounds, I would like to imagine that this Batgirl's character combines elements from Barbara Gordon, Cassandra Cain, and Stephanie Brown together. Don't know how that would fit together though...maybe some brilliant mind can work on that.

nolanverse is good only if you do not expand it much. it's was already ridiculous with the inclusion of Catwoman(who ruined the movie)...

In the Batman script I wrote, Barbara is a reporter. No superhero antics involved.

Actually darker purples and blues would still work to be stealthy.

Looks decent enough, but we know that Nolan would change two things here. One, the cowl wouldn't have an open back to let her hair through. Two, the mouth of the cowl would be round and so tight around the mouth that her cheeks and mouth look like they're pushing through. Oh, and lose the yellow bat-symbol too, can't have it be recognizable.

In case you can't tell, I'm not too big a fan of Nolan's bat-suit for the reasons that the cowl looked stupid and the bat symbol was not noticeable, which as any Batman fan will tell you, it's noticeable for a reason. However, you did a good job of trying to make a Batgirl suit that would work in the Nolanverse, and is still a possibility if they continue the Nolanverse in comics similar to the way they're continuing Smallville. I really like the split cape design you have here as well.
